Creative Ways to Keep Your Team Connected

The pandemic surely has been a challenge not just to our daily lives but to our work routines too. Many employees across the nation are working from home and even some return-to-work plans include shifts at the office to reduce the amount of people in the building at once. With so much change and distance between family, friends and co-workers, stress is evident and it can negatively impact performance and employee morale.

Here are some creative ways your business can keep teams connected, engaged, and motivated.

Keep the conversation going. Check in on your teammates and ask how they are doing, how their family is doing. Showing a genuine interest in the lives of your employees outside of work can form a bond that employers need in order to build trust and loyalty. Don’t just send an email, pick up the phone and have a real conversation.

Send a note. A hand-written personalized note today provides surprise and delight. Managers should write thank you notes to the teams on the front lines and customer support. Express your gratitude for their role in supporting the company. Employees need to feel valued and one way to do that is to remind them that their job is important and their work is appreciated.

Also consider a simple “we miss seeing you around the office but happy we are working through this together.” We can create branded note cards that you can fill in yourself.

Thank you kit. If you’ve ever worked from home, you know it can be distracting and lonely at times. Working this way for a long period of time can be stressful for someone who isn’t used to it. We love the idea of sending your WFH teams a custom-branded thank you box that includes a note, and some WFH essentials. Throw in some snacks, hand sanitizer, something funny. Whatever speaks to your brand and can put a smile on you’re the faces of your employees.

Virtual Happy Hour kit. Some co-workers are staying connected through video chat and one way to spice things up is to host a virtual happy hour. We can create a custom box that you can add supplies to for your WFH teams.

Game time. Games at the office or online allow teams to bond together and take a mental break from work. It can help employees destress and refocus. Aside from virtual games, you can setup games at the office with social distancing in mind. Consider using floor graphics to make a larger-than-life game board.
